From the Windows Explorer select Tools, Folder Options - File Types. Peruse down 
to the JPEG File Type and click Advanced.




On your PC the default extension may be set to JPE for all JPEG file types. Change the default to JPG, save - you may have to reboot but then you should be ready to go. Hope this helps.
