Can't send link in Firefox

For some reason I can not click on File/Send link in the Firefox browser. This is a new PC and on the previous one also running Vista I was always able to do this. When I would click on File/Send Link I would get a Thunderbird Compose window. I've done an EXTENSIVE search on the Internet and the Mozilla forums. I followed all the suggestions and was hoping that the last one concerning GMail on the Google Toolbar might be the problem. The only problem was I don't have the Toolbar even installed. Short of editing the Registry I don't know what to try next. Could some pre-installed programs be causing the problem. I tried to compare the Registry tip that I had seen but the Vista Registry is laid out differently than the XP Registry. Any ideas?
