You may have seen my post about the ASUS Wi-Fi AP Solo utility, and how it crashes my computer. The reason why I use it, is because if I try to share my wired internet connection, through my wireless card on my ASUS P5K-E Wifi Board (Realtek RTL 8187 802.11g), with Windows Vista sharing, it doesn't work! If I create an ad-hoc network with internet sharing and WEP encryption, my Macbook Pro (2.2ghz Core 2 Duo, Leopard 10.5.2) can connect successfully to the wireless network. But even when internet sharing is enabled, I will not be able to connect to the internet on the Macbook Pro. If I create an ad-hoc network with internet sharing and WPA encryption, whether of the TKIP or AES variety, my Macbook Pro cannot connect to the wireless network at all. What am I doing wrong? My Macbook Pro has successfully connected to various wireless access points, with WEP, WPA, and WPA2 flavors of encryption.
