You are going to have to do this through Regedit. Go to : Start/run type in regedit.
this will start your registry editor. Open Computer/Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion\SystemRestore.
All of this on the left side. Click on SystemRestore on the left side. On the right
you should see some information. Look for "RPGlobalInterval" and to the right of
that you should see some numbers. If in the parentheses you see (86400) that is the
number of seconds in a day. That says that your machine will make a automatic restore
point every day, 24 hours, 86400. Get the point. To change it double click on "RPGlobalInterval"
and a window will open. change the BASE setting to decimal if it is not. Then in
the window type in the amount of SECONDS you wish to use for this setting. Changing
"RPLifeInterval" in a like manner sets how long the computer keeps the file, but
only to a point the computer will only use 15% of your hard drive and will start
to drop off the oldest restore point as new ones are made. This looks scary. It,
if not followed to the letter can destroy WINDOWS. If you get used to it, it is simple
and straight forward.
To change the amount of space on the hard drive it uses I am going to refer you to
the quick link bellow. And remember if at any time it gets turned off totally All
restore points are immediately lost.
