I am running Vista Home Premium 64 and under your registry location that you listed I do not have anything except The standard Default/value not set notation and another Key "current Version. I think yours is in error-serious error. At this point myself if I had another machine to use and considered already backing everything up. My reg. does not have continued from your location in Windows NT/Current Version/Windows, then I have the shell statement that shows simply the string value of explorer.exe and all of the path statement etc. is incorporated elsewhere under settings such as 'SystemRoot' and 'Path Name'. If you do not have the Current Version Key, you are missing just about ALL of your Windows operating data. I hope that is not the case. Your existing boot to a black screen sounds similar to when a MS tech remotely activated the true "Administrator" user on my machine.
