Power Failure Question

My computer runs fine when it is turned on, but it has recently been crashing after
~45min to an hour of being turned on. After the crash you cannot turn it back on
again unless you unplug the power cord from the psu and plug it back in (even so
after it has been turned off and unplugged from the wall for several hours.
I don't think the OS matters for the problem, but in case it does I have winXP Home.
