I had made a registry edit that actually caused this to happen to me, except that it was more like 10 to 15 minutes wait. Just for grins start your registry editor (start/run/regedit) and check the following and see if it for some reason hasn't been altered by something or someone. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Session Manager/Memory Management/ClearPageFileAtShutdown Notice that the number under data should look something like 0X00000000 (0) If the number in parenthesis is 1, double click on ClearPageFileAtShutdown and change the number to 0.
