Before going further, please help confirm the following points:
1. Does the error appear when trying to restore the system or accessing All Programs
-> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore?
2. When did the issue begin to occur? Have any changes been made on the computer
recently, such as an installation or upgrade?
Based on the current situation, I suggest trying the following methods to troubleshoot
the issue:
Method 1 Try to restore the system in Safe Mode
Restart the computer, keep pressing F8 and enter Safe Mode. Can we restore the system?
Method 2 Re-Registering Core Files
1. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories.
2. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
3. Type the following command and press Enter:
Regsvr32 srcore.dll
Also are you using bitlocker? I am suspicious of that one! No proof yet though.
