Any way to see what a message was on a crash

I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit.

The other day I started my PC and it started with a CheckDisk. It had some messages
what the problem was but it went by too quick. My PC started fine.

I was wondering if there was a log somewhere that I could look at to see exactly
what the problem / error message was?
