Vista doesn't forget deleted wireless network

I reconfigured my wireless router, left SSID same, changed gateway address. Vista would say it had 'limited connectivity' (e.g. none) when I tried to reconnect to the router. I disconnected, deleted the wireless profile using the Network and Sharing Center>Manage Network Connections, then reconnected and had same problem.

I disconnected, deleted it again, and restarted the computer and had the same problem. Looking at ipconfig /all, DHCP had not been successful, but it had the old gateway address and a subnet I have never used.

Vista seems to be caching wireless profile info somewhere and refuses to purge it when you delete the profile. Does anyone know how to really delete a wireless profile in Vista?

I have an overwhelming impulse to rant on Vista and Redmond right now, but I will refrain.

Thanks.
