I didn't change the SSID because I didn't want to go around to the people who are
sharing my wireless and change their connection preferences. I wanted it to appear
seemless for them.
Pretty much the only thing that changed was the gateway IP because I have a router
where you can divide your wireless into secure and unsecure segments with separate
SSIDs and gateway IPs. I hadn't been using it, but I just set it up.
The transition appears to have worked fine on XP machines, bad bad Vista >:( I am
sure there is some command you can type into the shell or registry keys you can delete
to purge whatever remains. But since Vista is still relatively new, I haven't been
able to find anything with Google searches.
Any other ideas?
