I'd get rid of Vista before I'd go back to that clunky Linksys firmware. DD-WRT rocks! And DD-WRT is based on OpenWRT, which is based on Linux. As far as proven standards go, it should be as close as you can get to enterprise grade Cisco networking gear without spending $500.

But Vista is doing fine connecting to the new secure wireless segment (the one with the new SSID and new gateway address). It only won't connect to the insecure segment (that has the same old SSID but a new gateway address.)
