The power cable shouldn't be the problem. A couple of things is first you need to
make sure of, in the BIOS, that it is enabled to boot from CD (or DVD, same setting),
then set the Boot order to look at the CS/DVD first. Study the book that should have
come with your Motherboard. It should have an entire section devoted to these settings.
Then in the POST (the first couple of screens that you see notice if it lists the
CD/DVD as being found. You can use your pause key here. I know it goes by pretty
fast and when you aren't used to noticing particular events in there, it is difficult.
All of that taking place should get you loading the OS from the DVD.
