Hi,

Thanks for that. It's a standard aerial input (so nothing digital as the card does 
the freeview stuff) all fully earthed in standard cable which works fine if plugged 
into a TV direct. 

So unless it's static build up hmm I fail to understand as when this happens all 
I do is shutdown then switch on again and fire up the software (reboot doesn't work) 
so it is perplexing but looks like software or some setting as opposed to hardware 
unless you have other views which are welcome:-))
