Unless you are told to do so by a RELIABLE source and I'm not talking some computer 
junkie that spends his day chatting on the net, Leave the services alone. If you 
want a pretty nice list of what services are set to run or not, in any certain situation 
I will enclose a link below. There is seldom a need to mess with services. You can 
always go get a A+ cert. or MCSE, but to understand and utilize these any better 
than they are set up by MS, it's just not going to happen. I have only seen MS tell 
a person 2 times in my life to alter them and one those is standard practice for 
XP and the other are hardly used and can really trash your update system if you don't 
do it right.
