Update works but no IE or Firefox Friday, May 30, 2008 at 6:54 am Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Gary (78 messages posted) Hi all, Been away for a while to return to return to find the kids laptop running Home Premium has the 2 monitors in the taskbar & can do all updates but IE7 or Firefox or progs that use the net I suspect on running like Spybot or Adaware seem to fail. No specific error just can't locate any web pages as if no connection. I've tried with wireless & an RJ45 cable etc but it must be good (ish) coz update from Microsoft works. It also works in safe mode, so I disabled all startup stuff in msconfig but still no joy. I can't recall how to do a repair of IE but Firefox etc doesn't work so am lost for now. Still playing but in case it's easy and someone knows I thought I'd ask.
