From what I see, the last paragraph under "Importing from Outlook Express" regarding exporting to eml files is your best bet. If Windows mail will not do this directly, search using "export to eml file" for free apps that claim to do this. I would create a new account (Windows mail) and clone your current account in case the app you decide to try crashes and burns.
