This is sounding like a mechanical problem. The only other thing I can think of is to try a manual install/update from 'Device Manager'. select from a list etc. And try a couple diff. touch pad drivers just in case. They are pretty generic. Otherwise I think you may need a repair at their expense. Just be sure not to do anything that will trash a warranty.
