Did this start right after an update? Especially if it was the SP1 update. Also
did you just install any new software? The BSoD is caused by hardware issues.
First the updates issue. SP1 is not compatible with some hardware and is not supposed
to install if it finds any of this offending hardware. Supposed to being the key
operator here. This you need to contact your computer manufacturer and discuss this
with them.
Software additions. Something is trying to run in the background of your system.
Often new software has to set itself up in a new system and even connect to online
resources. the 0x00000008 portion of the code string is trying to get an outside
line on a dial-up connection? This may seem strange, but something is telling it
that it has to. And this is enough to totally take control of your system.
If you have recently installed something new in the way of software try to uninstall
it completely than go to MS and look for 'Live Onecare" they have an quickie one
time system check that can take a couple of hours to run but if you let it do it's
thing completely it does marvelous and magical things to fix your Vista. Remember
that MS wrote Vista and MS knows what registry things need to be or not in your system.
I said this because live Onecare does a reg. fix similar to all the commercial ones
your see. If you have run one of those commercial ones that are offered everywhere
it could have caused this also.
