I had the same issue and it was later found out that the problem was due to incompatibility between zonealarm and vista. I shifted to another security suite and it was resolved. Zonealarm subsequently corrected the bug in their later release. If you dont mind, I suggest a combination of AVG antivirus 8 free edition and Online-armor free edition firewall.
