I spent several hours applying as many of the tips I found through this forum to
speed boot up/shut down and overall response time that I could. The time saved applying
these tips were measured in seconds and cumulatively they resulted in a faster, more
responsive PC. One area left was the logon time I asked about in this message. As
the only difference I could determine controlling logon speed, as I only changed
operating systems, was Vista, I thought this was the appropriate venue to post my
question. Based on your response, it would appear that I was mistaken.
Thanks for your response and the housekeeping hint.
Should I ever need to remove a stain from my couch, I'll be sure to come here for
your advice.
