Assuming the problem is similar to what is addressed in the KB, anything you can
do to lighten the load on the PCI bus "ought to" help.
Is your vid card a PCI bus card? If so, changing to an AGP or PCIe vid card depending
upon what is supported by the motherboard might help. Also, since the issue is related
to PCI bus conflicts, timing, and the quality of the power and signal on the PCI
bus, a "no-Name" or discount motherboard may not be up to the task.
Check at the motherboard manufacturer's site for updated drivers for the chipset
or BIOS---if available these updates could have been written to address whatever
defiicency is creating the bus problem.
If all that fails, you have to consider what is best for you---scrapping the problem
sound card, scrapping the (maybe) cheesy motherboard, or going back to XP.
