Network disconnects whenever Vista is restarted or idle

I have a brand new Toshiba laptop with Vista Home Premium and ESET Internet Security
7 installed.

Whenever I restart my computer or whenever I log back in after my computer is in
standby, I have to go to the Network Sharing Center and click "Manage or Repair"
to reconnect my network to the Internet.

I use a wired, Ethernet connection at work and a wireless connection at home. Can
anyone tell me why I'm having such problems with my Ethernet connection? Isn't there
some way for the Ethernet Internet connection to always be working without having
to reconfigure it every time? It's very frustrating to have to do that every time.

Thanks.
