Web browsing problems after virus remove

Web browsing problems after virus remove. I had a "Spyguard 2009" infection. I purchased and installed Norton's 2009. It says it successfully removed that and one other more serious infection. Since then I have been unable to load one website at all (steepandcheap.com), If I do a search on Yahoo, all of the resulting links say something about a google redirect and bring up an empty page. Last, I am able to log in to Hotmail, get in the inbox, but unable to click any messages. I tried downloading Firefox and have the same results. On the Hotmail issue the bottom left of IE says the page loaded with errors (No kidding!). I tried system restore to before I had the problem and it said there was a problem and the system was not changed. Any suggestions on where to go next? Thanks as always. John
