If you are using a laptop its usually caused by brushing the mouspad when you are typing. In the Mouse driver there's usually something to prevent this - most often called "Palmcheck" or similar. Some also have a "Tap off when typing" setting. If its an external mouse, try another one as a first step. Written in response to: Writing message (Barry S.
