I want to upgrade to a new computer, after which I will only have one computer running
a windows operating system. My old computer runs windows xp. I have bought a windows
vista upgrade. While I'm switching from having windows on one computer to having
it on another computer, there will be a brief moment in which I will have 2 computers
both running windows. Are you saying that it's impossible to do that, because I have
to have a separate license for the second computer, even though it will only be for
the span of time required to move from one computer to the other?
More detail: I have installed the vista upgrade without entering my key yet, so that
I can try to move my data. When I finish and run the installer again to enter my
key, will it erase my hard drive, or will I be able to keep what I have moved onto
it.
Ideally, I would like to be able to use "easy transfer" to move my applications and
settings from the old computer. But, I'm afraid that if I do that my 1 license will
be invalidated on either the old computer or the new computer. Is there no way to
move my 1 license from teh old computer to the new computer, and keep my applications
and settings?
