That usually happens from an error in you input on the first try. Any subsequent
effort to log on does as you say. Yes, it is annoying, but try a reboot on the Vista
machine and then try again. Make sure that the cap locks is not on (unless you need
it so) and insert the password accurately.
If that is not the case I will have to dig in further to look for an answer for you.
I also have a a couple of friends over at WWW.VistaHelp.ca that is very knowledgeable
with networking. If I can't help you should try them.
