If you have both computers at the same location, network them together and let him 
put his  copied drive on his machine to read, then copy them via the network to your 
new drive. The most you should be force to purchase (if you don't already have networking 
capability) is a single "Crossover" ethernet (CAT 5) cable. The crossover in it's 
name is the important part.
