Excuse my lack of understanding! Can you try to restate you question. I almost think 
I understand what you want then read the rest of what you said and I get confused. 
I am assuming yo are talking about scrolling through files in your explorer directories. 
You can add & remove headings at will. That could help. The only time you should 
want to change a sort is when intentionally want to. I don't understand why you have 
a problem clicking on the correct header? In View you can choose LIST, but that doesn't 
give many details. It is more horizontal though.
