I agree that it doesn't sound cheep. And as far as Best Buy goes they use the Linux
program that I don't like. If they are o cheep to buy the officially release program
made for techs then they qualify for the 'Fly By Night' category in my opinion.
Any software that you download from a warez or P2P site has the potential of carrying
Malware.
The problem is that there are many good intentioned people, but in this specific
instance of 'breaking into a computer', MS had to go one step further when you consider
the odds of the person possessing a stolen machine. The casual user may find it troublesome,
but the professional needs any and all extra security they can get. These are the
people that MS is try to reach out to. Same thing with the trouble everyone had with
getting a sound card (other than Sound Blaster) to work on Vista. MS was only following
the law and AARI mandates. the other brand doesn't care about laws. I used to be
totally against Apples , but now think that there are a great number of people that
are much more suited t the Apple machines. You don't have to know much to run one
or maintain one. Of course you then have the misinformation about how reliable they
are!
