Is your unit still in warranty? Take it to an authorized Sony shop. If not you may 
be in trouble. You are likely looking at either a failing back-light, or a intermittent 
connection on the cable from the circuit board to the monitor. Both are fixable, 
but a regular shop is probably not going to have the expertise to handle a repair 
of this caliber. It could require the replacement of the original cable if it is 
broken.
