thanks....I managed to make a VistaPE CD and save my irreplaceable files to an external
HD...was just waiting for a post here to see if there might be a solution before
I wipe it...I guess I will wipe it...unless anyone has any other ideas??
note** why wouldnt fixboot or fixmbr work?? if all it was was a boot problem (which
IS all it was only due to my stupidity-I should know better as an IT major not to
move a patition to the left, thus overwriting the mbr and/or mft), like an issue
with the MBR (like no mbr :)) or a meesed up MFT, shouldnt these commands have worked??
fix boot creates a whole new MBR and fixmbr overwrites the mbr so what would be a
possible reason why none of the bootrec.exe commands were effective and I still ended
up with a blinking dos cursor in the upper left corner??? thanks for all your help?
