1)Pathological entries: Decent malware removal programs remove these entries and
actually specialize in recognizing and removing them and are free for home use.
2)Dysfunctional entries: Cases of these happening that add any time to boot times
are very rare and if they do try using CCleaner registry function to look for and
remove. It is fairly benign and usually won't cause a non boot situation which i have
seen paid registry "cleaners" used by people that don't understand what they are
"cleaning"inflict.
3)Non significant entries:your whole registry is less than 200 mbs do you really
care they are there that you have to pay for a Cleaner to get rid of them?CCleaner
will get rid of those for free.
Bottom line these programs are fine and dandy for people that really understand what
they are messing with but when people start deleting things willy nilly because some
aggressive registry cleaner says it is a problem disaster can be the result.
