IE- AFP Script Error and IE not responding

1) For a while now Internet Explorer has failed to stream BBC TV correctly. Audio
and vision run out of synch, when once they did not. (Using Firefox instead still
generates the same problem). Adobe Flash Player (AFP) mentions script errors that
causes the video to run slowly from time to time. However, when AFP updated (which
KIS 2009/10 detects as a vulnerability and suggests the update too), as it does about
every month or so, the synching did not improve.

To help solve this, I next resorted to uninstalling AFP with Adobe's uninstaller,
but this also did not improve the synching. On top of this no problems occured with
windows 7, IE and AFP, so the problem does not lie with the BBC file server or the
streaming speed. I have even unistalled IE. Other than re-installing IE this time,
by using the IE uninstaller or removal tool. What else can I do with windows and
IE to solve this synching problem?

2) In addition, what makes IE to 'not respond', as this is occurring too? Looking
at forums re-installation is the dominant solution along with using ccleaner and
the like. (I use this anyway and more, so this does not solve the problem). I usually
look at Task Manager and force a crash if need be. What sought of things should I
troubleshoot in windows and IE?

3) Other packages, such as Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and Skype also
do not respond from time to time. What should I troubleshoot for these, i.e. windows
vista ones. Forum for these packages offer minimal support for this problem focusing
on standard problems.
