re: Harddrive missing volume label Monday, September 7, 2009 at 6:35 am Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by jbmcmillan (1055 messages posted) What was your old computer?If it was an oem(Dell,Compaq) the sata controller might have been in AHCI mode which then would have made the disk dynamic similar to a raid array(dynamic vs basic).I have never switched one to a computer with the sata controller in ide mode so I don't know if this affects the ability to read the contents but it might have something to do with it.
