HP Scanning Software not starting Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 9:33 pm Windows Vista Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by David (140 messages posted) My HP Scanning software is no longer working. I plug in the scanner to the computer. I press the scan button on the scanner. The HP Scanning logo appears on my desktop but nothing else happens. It was working about a week ago. Now it is not. I have an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop and use an HP G4010 scanner. Note that the scanner does work if I use alternative scanning software that was pre-installed in the computer. But it will not work with the HP scanning software that I installed. I even uninstalled the software and re-installed it. This is a new and very powerful computer. I can't imagine what's causing the software to stall/freeze. I have made some minor adjustments since the last time I used the scanner. Any ideas?
