You were correct in that as long as I download it from another computer it will work.
I've gotten Belarc and a couple of other programs to work.
There is something strange going on though, AVG is still working I've found out,
but there is no tray icon, and none of the commands will work. The Windows Defender
tray icon is now missing. No PDF file will open now, not even the ones that were
already on the computer. I still get the "not a win32 application" error. I'm beginning
to think that backing everything up as best I can and then do a wipe back to the
original state is my best bet. What a ROYAL PITA!!!!! I'm going to let Carbonite
get everything it will back up first, at least that will keep me from having to do
it by hand. I'm still open to suggestions.
