Lost Ability to "Send to Desktop" (Create Shortcut)

I have various default folders (e.g., "DOCUMENTS") stored in non-standard locations.
After moving some of these around, I can no longer right-click on a folder (or file
or ANYTHING) and get the context menu item "SEND TO DESKTOP (CREATE SHORTCUT)".
The "Desktop" is there, but clicking this simply COPIES everything to the desktop
rather than creating a shortcut as it should... My fault for overtweaking, no doubt,
but any help in how to repair/restore this feature would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for your help, registry hacker gurus!
