Search only in a USB device.

I want to search in an external USB HD. I plug this in because I think there is a file on it. However when I press search I get 1432 hits but none seem to be on my USB HD. How can I just restrict teh search to the USB device; it is not and will not be indexed. The old classic XP worked well for this kind on search which happens to be my most often use of search.
