I want to download Vista Beta2 from microsoft but i have some questions.... First,
is it jus an upgrade from XP? or do i have to re-install everything on my PC and
lose all my files? Also, is there any risk using this beta version? How easy is it
to switch back to XP? and last, Whats the difference between 32bit and 64bit?
thanks

You can install Windows Vista Beta 2 as a stand-alone OS on it's own partition or
upgrade a Windows XP installation. I Recommend that you install it on it's own partition.
But make sure you make the partition FIRST before starting the setup. Because the
partition section of the Windows Vista installer is a bit buggy. It removed my backup
partition on my PC. So make sure you make a empty new parition in Windows XP or with
some program before running setup.
By the way, you will not lose any files, as long as you installed it on it's own
partition!
About the risk, well there might be some risk, but as far as I have seen it's very
nice behaving and I'm writing this message in it at the moment. It also didn't mess
with my files on the other partition at all.
To switch back to Windows XP, just delete the Windows Vista partition in Windows
XP or some program. If your computer doesn't boot anymore after that, try the repair
console in the setup of Windows XP. (for Info just ask....)
The difference between the 32 and 64-bits versions is that they are made for a particilair
processor. If you have a 64-bits processor (Like the AMD64 or a Intel with EM64)
you can use the 64-bits version. Otherwise you use the 32-bits version. If you rae
not sure what you got, the you can always use the 32-bits version. It will run on
those 64-bits enabled processors.
