Annoying Confirmations

Has anyone found out how to disable all the annoying confirmations? It's driving
me up the wall. Everytime it brings the confirmation up my monitor acts like it's
being turned off and turned back on. Do I really need to confirm deleting something
from the desktop 6 times? I hope that crap isn't in the release. Reminds me of
a macintosh. So annoying.

Control Panel>Admin Tools>Sys Config>Tools>Disable UAC. Warning! Defeats most of
Vista's new security features.

The problem with turning off this so-called feature, is it negates the supposed purpose
of buying into this new resource mega-pig of an operating system in the name of 'Security'.
And you're going to get to buy new hardware to make it look like it should / could,
and spend a LOT of time figuring out where all the stuff is that you used to use
all the time, and the whole process makes it SEEM like you've just improved your
life's situation.
In reality, you've probably taken a step to the rear, and are a few hundred dollars
the lighter for it.
So you're going to convince yourself you just 'upgraded' to something wonderful.
I'm trying it out now (the new pre-RC1) and it would never be my first or second
choice of operating system.
Those OK boxes are SOOOOO annoying, there's GOT to be a better way or a compromise
of some sort.

I'm with you on this one! I tried it out and could find nothing in it whatsoever
that made it useful to me. the security "features" are just a pain in the neck. And
like you said, turning them off defeats the whole purpose of buying it. And all the
"pretty" stuff (sidebar and what not) can all be found online for free for XP.
I'm not buying it , heck they gave me a copy and I'm not using that either. All I
got out of it was a messed up bootloader I know have my BIOS set to boot from the
second drive I installed Vista to in order to boot XP on my first drive. I can't
stand how stupid Microsoft has become.

Ken, my thoughts exactly. I spent the last 3 hours playing with RC1 on a spare hard
drive.
For anyone who's sick of the xp interface and likes the aero look, go get yourself
a copy of Window Blinds for 20 bucks and check out the Noire skin.
