I have an x1100 all in one printer and Vista tells me its set up fine, it shows in the printers listings, yet I cant install the actual software off the CD, it only tells me I can upgrade the existing driver and...you guessed it...the printer wont print, copy or scan. Anyone having a similar issue or does someone have a fix?

I had the same problem when I bought an HP laptop in March '07. First, I learned that the lexmark CD had old drivers that would never be compatible with Windows Vista. Had to uninstall the original installation, and either download the Vista drivers from Lexmark or let Windows search for the updates. Both ways seemed to work, but the printer still didn't work. I took that laptop back and got a Gateway laptop, plugged in the computer, Windows searched for drivers, and this time it worked. I don't know yet if I still have all the printer's features, but at least it prints documents.
