I recieved an email from compuserve that warned me about putting Vista on my computer and expecting it to work. As of this date, Vista does not support Compuserve and they suggested that I switch to AOL. I beleive they are trying to get everyone off Compuserve and on to AOL. They have been trying to do that for years and Vista seems to be the tool that is making everyone do it. Thus, I have not made the move to Vista in waiting to see how the Compuserve problem will resolve itself. Interestingly, the Compuserve proram has worked on the Beta version I have.

I am tempted to also believe that AOL is using this as just another attempt to get
all CompuServe users to switch to AOL.

They've obviously ignored CompuServe since they purchased it (other than taking our
monthly payments of course) and have failed to even upgrade or develop a new version.
They just don't seem to "get it" that a lot of long-time CompuSeve users don't want
to switch to AOL.

I live in an area where high-speed interent will take awhile to get to us, so we're
still forced to use dial-up.

Since I have both personal and business e-mail addresses with CompuServe, I'm very
reluctant to change since I'd probably have to spend a LOT of time changing then
with all my contacts.

Of course we all could go with another company and keep the CompuServe account and
access it over the internet, but that's not what I think I'm paying for.

I guess the big question is if it's really true that CompuServe won't work with Vista,
or is AOL just using this as another is a long series of attempts to get us all to
switch.......

I purchased a new lap top with vista installed from dell, has there been any change in compuserve's position on supporting the vista program?

My wife solved the Vista-CS problem. I bought AOL's $9.99 unlimited; You open AOL; when it opens you 'X' it out and THEN open compuserve. It works every time. However, I'm paying $20 total for the two services. My wife doesnt want to switch from CS so I've cured both problems--Walt
