Ok guys. I recently upgraded to Vista. However, i sorta had to do a clean install, which meant everything was deleted. That is not my problem. However, i noticed that there is no sound. I first noticed when i installed Halo Pc again and it said sound card not detected. The sound card is there. BUT i looked down and BLAM it hits me. It says no audio devices are installed. I had it on this setting before in Windows XP media edition. So im like WTF. My moniter has built in speakers, so i tried other speakers. Hit a brick wall there. If it will help, it says my sound card or SOMETHING is a digital input device (SPDIF). Please help me. Im pretty nooby wit computers :O. This sound thing is seriously getting annoying.

You need to install the Sound Card Drivers. Vista doesn't support many Sound Cards. Many users are having the same problem.

Yup, at this early stage of the game, you'll want to check pretty much on a daily
basis at the support/download pages for your exact make and model of sound card/sound
chipset to see how they are coming with Vista drivers.

But just having the drivers does not guarantee success. A previous poster was reporting
trouble with a Creative Audigy 2 card, but cleared up his issue with a reinstallation
of the drivers.

Now you know how the Wright Brothers felt ;-)

As mentioned in a previous post I've got an Audigy 2 which wouldn't work with the
Beta drivers from Creative's site (though I see they have some new ones now) so I
reinstalled the latest XP drivers & initially it didn't work but then I fiddled with
the app that Creative installs (Creative Audio Console) and changed the speaker config
to 7.1 etc & bingo it works.

I've not bothered since with any more Beta's as it's in so much flux but there is
quite a bit on Creative's forum about Vista so it's coming...

Presumably you had no choice or weren't bothered to dual partition with XP etc as
most folks would never solely install Vista until it's all sorted.
