I use "Webroot Spysweeper with Antivirus". I noticed that it and Defender report as being on in the security center. Do I need both? I was thinking of turning off Defender. Any advice appreciated.

You can turn off Defender, but still use it for a second opinion if you want. I use to keep Defender off myself.
