Program Compatibility Assistant Notifications

Any way to shut the notification service off? On reboot, it notifies me about a driver that has no Vista update now. Deleting the offending driver is not an option. The service causes pop ups from the task bar and the desktop. Each pop up has to be closed 7 times before it stops. Will stay off until next reboot. I've tried disabling it in Services, and in Program Configuration. No luck. Keeps coming back. I'm getting close to ripping it out of the registry. But, I'd prefer to disable it more gently if anyone has a better solution. Thanks for any help anyone can render. :-)

I have the same exact problem. Program Compatibility Assistant says Sonic Solutions driver is blocked. I went to MMC, Services, and turned off noticification, added DLA to the list, and even deleted DLA from the system --all to no avail. I still get the error notice on startup. Ridiculous. The notice interferes with Sidebar as you said. In addition, I am now getting an error that MMC snapin isn't working when I try to open Services.

I tried to rip it out of the registry. No dice. Still got the notice. Once Sonic posted the patch, the problem was gone. Seems if you've got a driver problem, no matter what you try to do, the PCA feature will alert you. What happend to the good old days of DOS, when you could just DEL what you didn't like! rn
