I don't understand I just bought new computer with windows vista installed on it and I cannot import my mp3's into windows movie maker it say's "C:\Users\HELL\Music\Fall Out Boy - This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race.mp3 could not be imported. Unspecified error" It will let me import windows sample music though and they are "Windows Media Audio file (.wma)". I have used these songs on my old computer with windows XP moive maker! You might want to double check if MovieMaker can use MP3 format. It may need a Wave, or WMA format. A bit of Googling may get you pointed in right direction.

Movie Maker in Vista can use MP3s, I used one for background music on a short film clip myself yesterday.
