Wireless Connection and SonicWALL TZ170w

Since upgrading to Vista, I've had wierd issues. When I try to connect my laptop (Atheros AR5004) to a SonicWALL TZ170 Wireless, I get an error that states a duplicate IP address has been detected on this computer and it connects with limited access (no DHCP address obtained). The SonicWALL is running WPA-PSK encryption, but I have also set it to Open for testing and get the same results. There is no IP conflict and I can figure this thing out. Has anyone experienced the same issues?

Yeah, John, I've got the same problem. I get duplicate IPs and, moreover, I only get an APIPA as the preferred address when looking at an ipconfig. I think my solution is to get a different AP and use it instead of the wireless on the Sonicwall.

I had the same issue with my TZ170w router. Please follow the steps, it should resolve your connectivity issue on your SonicWall router. Thanks. Click the Start button. Select All Programs > Accessories. Right click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator. Type regedit.exe and press enter. Go to the following location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Tcpip\Parameters Right click this entry and select New Dword. Rename the new entry ArpRetryCount (leave it set to 0 by default). Restart the computer. Reassociate with the SonicWALL. You should notice a successful connection.

This Most certainly worked! I had the same problem, and after trouble shooting for a week this fixed it INSTANTLY! You do also have to update the firmware on the Sonicwall however to the most current which is 3.1.3.0. FYI.
