Problem Playing Various Media

Hi all, I just purchased an HP Pavillion dv6000 and I'm actually getting used to Vista. After making the effort to transfer everything over, i'm finding difficulty playing media (music and videos). It seems that i can't simply double click on an item and have it play...and I've tried everything i know to associate files and whatnot. The only feature I am unfamiliar with is this QuickPlay thing that is on my laptop...I'm not sure if it is interfering or not. Now, i *can* play media on this new machine (So i know it is not a video card issue or anything), but i have to go into WMP and manually find the file and play it. I'm basically looking just to be able to double click on a file and be able to play it once again. Thanks for any helpful information you might have. TW

I had the same problem! I got all excited over my new laptop HP Pavillion dv2000, transferred 200 music files and they just wouldn't play until I do each one individually.. what a pain. I hate vista. Have had more problems too...can't play my game. Now what's the point of upgrading to a laptop w/nvidia if I can't play games???
