Computer slow & AVG Antispyware does not function

I bought a new computer with Vista. I found it painfully slow. I removed preinstalled Bullgaurd software as it seems redundant with Windows Defender working. The computer is still slow. Secondly I installed AVG free antivrus which is working. However the AVG free Antispyware although installed successfully does not work due to some error. I shall appreciate if anybody has the experience. Thanks!

You can disable some of the services that you don't use to help speed things up. This link will help guide you through the services. http://speedyvista.com Vista usually runs better on at least 1gb of ram, 2gb reccomended. Not Sure on AVG, I use Avast & had no problems & found it to better, plus smaller footprint. You can pick it up free at: http://www.download.com/Avast-Professional-Edition/3000-2239_4-10631713.html

Vista Not Genuine I recenctly had to reinstall my original vista and installed it as an upgrade using myold installation disk, the installation was succesful and activated ok but now I have a note on screen this copy of vista is non genuine ???

Go to control panel, click on performance inf, click on ajust visual effects. Then set visual effects to run for best performance ,you can go back later and customise to suit yourself

Now that is one strange response. I cant figure out if its a copy/paste of a solution or answer and then mixup? Or if its an accidental paste of a former? Anyways thank you for possibly the strangest post ever. Strange
